Respecting PDF

Though it’s great to do well in school, teens also need to be aware that balance at home is important also. PDF--or Playtime, Downtime, and Family Time--as Denise Pope calls it, is something that she believes that children and adolescents need, for example, she says that teens, “need to be with friends in person, or to just lie around,” for sufficient downtime ( qtd. Dell’Antonia). KJ Dell’Antonia, the author of the article, agrees that PDF is something that all families need, “There are things to be learned from playtime, downtime and family time that can’t be learned in the classroom…” she says in her article. She, a partaker in PDF, said that her children are learning to, “...find a way to get along,” and that they’re, “...finding support and comfort in family rituals,” through PDF. Teens could benefit from seeking balance in their lives at home. Being able to bond with family could establish connections and possibly help relieve stress. There’s nothing more valuable than spending time with family.
